- sweet potato casserole just like my grandma used to make, only she used canned yams (vegetarian) - great job on this one Mom!
- two dressings - one gluten-free(not VG) and one vegetarian(not GF) - again... great job Mom!
- a really good turkey
- mashed potatoes (VG)
- sweet potato pie (GF) - Christian made this one and it rocked!
- pumpkin cheesecake (GF) -
- gravy (VG) - there was no turkey gravy but we were ok!
- homemade pumpkin pie (not GF) - it looked good Mom!
- steamed veggies
We served up buffet style, which worked out great so the table wasn't full of food and we could all enjoy our meals and talking to each other. I was able to use leftover decorations from the wedding (yeah!) to decorate the tables and part of house, and I loved the festive Fall feel. Between Mom, myself and Christian we had dinner and dessert covered and we even had a little nibble table with cheese, crackers, raw veggies and some sweet stuff. I tell ya, Jack and everyone really like Mom's cereal mix.
We had ten people: my dad, Sharlene, Jack, Steven, Sharon, myself, Donald, Mom, Eric & Christian. Abby tried get a little food and when Eric showed up Muffin thought she'd be counted, too, but no doggies at the table! :)
A few pics of the decorations and the family:
It was an absolutely wonderful day! Thanks for bringing back Thanksgiving!
