Susan G Komen Walk - we did it!

UPDATE - I was able to get the pics to load (good old Firefox saves the day again). Check them out!

Today Mom, Donald and I did the 5K walk in the Susan G Komen Race for the Cure. It was a great experience and I would definitely do it again next year. The weather was great - not hot and not cold and lots of sun. We are pretty tuckered out but it is a great feeling to have taken part in something so special. There were A LOT of people there... hundreds upon hundreds! I tried to load pics but the site kept going down, so if you don't have Facebook, send me an email and I'll be more than happy to send you a couple of pics to show off!

Thank you everyone for your support... we walked today in celebration of Sharlene, my stepmother, who is a SURVIVOR! We also walked with Jeanette (Donald's mom) in our hearts and minds as she battles lung cancer. We'll definitely be walking the Lung Cancer Climb the Mountain next year!

Blah, blah, blah....

So this can be anything from venting, my word of the day, a cool recipe I found or cool idea I have - or maybe a bad idea but I think it's cool!

Jan 3 - cool idea I picked up yesterday as we were organizing the holiday decorations and lights. I went to Lowes to see if they possibly had any of the Christmas light reels left - not a single bit of Christmas stuff left. But I thought that maybe there would be something similar in the electrical dept for cords. Yup - a three pack of orange plastic funky cord wrappers for $3. Can't beat that w/a stick and now all of our lights are tested, wrapped up nice and neat and no more big ugly light ball! (oh yeah - we ended up with 15 cord wrappers!)

Jan 30 - I've decided I like having a sofa better than a recliner... I like stretching out and snuggling with my hubby and it's just too impossible to do on a recliner. So I'm really looking forward to our new sofa that gets delivered today!

March 12 - Those little racks that they sell anywhere that go into your cupboard and act like a shelf are awesome! What a great way to double your shelf space, especially with low profile things that only use the shelf and have tons of space above. Definitely good on the counters, too!

July 11 - free Slurpee day!
